Accidents and Personal Injury
Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota
Attorney Patricia Stone was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. She attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate degree, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History in the University’s Honors Program. During her time at Minnesota, Attorney Stone was a sprinter on the University of Minnesota Gophers women’s track and field team, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors.
Thereafter, Attorney Stone pursued and received a Master’s degree in Urban History from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She focused her studies on the government’s role in the creation of discriminatory housing policies in the second half of the 20th century. Upon receiving her Master’s degree, Attorney Stone worked as a lobbyist for the housing industry, arguing to governmental officials on the importance of ensuring the availability of low cost housing.
While working as a lobbyist, Attorney Stone pursued her law degree from Marquette University. Attorney Stone was named to the Dean’s List multiple times. Upon graduation, Attorney Stone accepted a position as a litigator. Attorney Stone has been involved in catastrophic injury cases for approximately 13 years as a litigation attorney.
For the duration of Attorney Stone’s legal career until joining Gruber Law Offices, she represented insureds and insurance companies in defense of very significant claims, handling complex litigation matters involving catastrophic injuries and individual jury demands in excess of $15 million. In doing so, Attorney Stone litigated cases involving product liability, wrongful death, construction defect, premises liability, transportation law as well as other types of personal injury matters. Attorney Stone has represented clients throughout the United States, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Texas, among other areas.
After being promoted to Partner at her old firm (a large international law firm with over 900 lawyers), Attorney Stone ultimately knew she was on the “wrong side” and decided to make a change. Since she made the switch several years ago, Attorney Stone at Gruber Law Offices proudly champions the cause of those seriously injured through no fault of their own, and due to reckless or careless acts committed by others. Her earlier defense representation has provided critical insight into the evaluation, adjustment, and resolution strategies utilized by individuals and, more precisely, insurance companies working to minimize exposure for the harm that they or their insureds caused.
Attorney Stone uses this experience and knowledge to vigorously and aggressively pursue damages on behalf of her clients. She handles many catastrophic injury cases at Gruber Law Offices.
Attorney Stone’s knowledge and skill in advocating for her clients has won her prestigious recognition and more specifically the praise of her peers, as she has been named a Wisconsin Super Lawyers – Rising Star for several years. Attorney Stone has succeeded in arguing cases to both the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as well as the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Working to improve the lives of Wisconsin residents is important to Attorney Stone.
She has volunteered in the Wills for Heroes program, through which she prepared wills for first responders. Additionally, she has worked as a Milwaukee County poll worker, helping to ensure that all residents are able to cast their vote in elections. Attorney Stone and her husband, Jason, have also dedicated their time to being foster parents, caring for children while their parents resolve issues with finances or housing.
When she’s not working, Patricia enjoys participating in or watching nearly any sport, including soccer, basketball, football, baseball, and, of course, track and field. She spends her time with her husband and her sons, Harrison and Josiah, both of whom are enthusiastic Milwaukee Bucks fans.
