Biography

José A. Oviedo is a Personal Injury Attorney at Gruber Law Offices.

Originally born in Havana, Cuba, Attorney Oviedo immigrated to Florida with his family as a child and grew up in Miami.  He was highly accomplished academically, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as a Certificate in Law, Ethics, and Society. Attorney Oviedo then attended Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.While at Marquette University Law School, he was an active member of the Sports Law Review, earning the Sports Law Certificate.

Attorney Oviedo’s academic achievements were recognized with the prestigious Thomas Moore Scholarship. Additionally, he represented Marquette University at two national negotiation competitions during his third year.  During his educational training, Attorney Oviedo demonstrated his passion for community advocacy by founding an organization dedicated to promoting social enrichment and empowerment for individuals with disabilities. He worked closely with families to foster meaningful connections and create opportunities for social engagement.

Prior to joining the Gruber Law team, Attorney Oviedo was a personal injury defense attorney. He gained valuable experience defending cases while working in personal injury insurance defense and civil litigation. This defense experience aids him in passionately representing our clients and provides him with inside knowledge regarding how insurance companies and defense attorneys analyze injury cases.Attorney Oviedo is a dedicated and approachable advocate who is a zealous advocate and a champion of those who have been seriously injured.  His commitment to helping others aligns with our firm’s mission.

Attorney Oviedo is a strong yet personable personal injury attorney who truly wants to make a difference in our community.As a native Spanish speaker, Attorney Oviedo works with both Spanish- and English-speaking clients.Attorney Oviedo resides in Milwaukee. He enjoys spending time with his close-knit family and has a passion for baseball. A former competitive player, baseball has instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for winning, teamwork, and thoughtful strategy—qualities he brings to Gruber Law Offices every day.
