Biography

Tonya joined our growing team at Gruber Law Offices from Mount Mary University.  At Mount Mary, Tonya served as Senior Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for several years. In that role, Tonya managed all functions of the Human Resources department for a staff of 350 employees. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, she not only oversaw her department but also played a key role in business planning and strategy to support the university’s ongoing growth and mission. Prior to her time at Mount Mary, Tonya spent nine years as the Director of Human Resources at Allay Home and Hospice, a homecare and hospice company with around 130 employees and nearly 300 patients. At Allay, she was responsible for managing all aspects of the Human Resources department.

Tonya holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law, which she earned 24 years ago in Lexington, Kentucky. She also graduated with high honors, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management, from Morehead State University. After initially practicing law for a few years, Tonya’s career transitioned primarily into human resources. She and her husband later moved to the Milwaukee area.

Outside of her professional life, Tonya is passionate about her family and sports. She and her husband dedicate much of their free time to traveling for their daughter’s hockey tournaments. They are also avid sports fans, with a particular affection for the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.
